Is there any reason why a 595mm x 595mm unit with integral thermostat can’t be fitted in a small apartment in a living room mounted centrally on the ceiling in place of a central light fitting using the lighting wiring ? Would this be in contravention of the UK Wiring Regs ?

Answer
Hi Ken! While we're sure that you're able to mount a 595 x 595mm panel on the ceiling, we cannot say whether you're able to use the lighting wiring or not, as this is something you will have to discuss with a qualified electrician.

Answer
Hi Ian, you need a minimum of 50mm clearance from the ceiling to the heater. Whether you do this with our suspension kit or your own method is entirely your decision
A previous question asked about suspending from the ceiling says minimum 5cm gap. However the tech details on suspension kit say 25cm. Which is correct please. It’s a standard ceiling, not a suspended ceiling.
Thanks

Answer
If you are mounting on a standard hard flat ceiling, the sufficient minimum requirement from my experience is 5 cm. Anything lower than this will be more advantageous. However the principle you need to apply is the following; airflow around the panel so that there is not too much residual heat lingering behind the panel. It will genuinely increase the lifetime of the panel.
I have one of your Mirrorstone IR panels 600 x 1200. The kit that was supplied with it is really not fit for purpose and is different from that described in the instructions. Can you tell me how this suspension kit attaches to the ceiling and will it work with our panel.

Answer
Hi Robert! The minimum amount of space you should have between the panel and the ceiling is 5cm. Using our suspension kits, the largest amount of space you can have between the panel and the ceiling is 1m. I hope this helps!

Hi there, I am interested in purchasing one of these, but can't see anywhere how the temperature is controlled? Do they have a thermostats or way to set what heat or how often it is on etc....want to put it in a child's bedroom so it can't be roaring all the time, or too low, could someone advise me please?
Many thanks
Laura

Answer
Hi Laura! All our NXT Gen (in the 'White IR Panels' category), Image and Custom Image IR Panels come with built in thermostats and remote controls as standard, allowing you to set a temperature. The heater will then switch on and off to maintain your temperature. If you wanted another type of IR panel, you can use a separate thermostat but this will need to be hard wired by a professional electrician - hence why our NXT Gen panels are a much easier option! Hope this helps, do let us know if you need anything else!
Can the panels be mounted on a sloping ceiling, if so how ?
Question
Can the panels be mounted on a sloping ceiling, if so how ?

Answer
Hi Duncan! Yes of course, the panels can be mounted on a sloping ceiling. We would still advise using a suspension kit for the installation however, in order to allow for adequate air flow between the ceiling and the panel.
