Hi Stephen! Mounting the panel at an angle off the wall is something that we have never done, so unfortunately we can't really offer any advice on this. You can however use the suspention kit for any size panel - the newer batch of the 300 x 600 panels are compatible with the suspension kit so this will work no problem.

Hi Dave! Based off the measurements you have provided, this heater should comfortably provide temperatures of at least 25 degrees celsius and probably more, as the heater has about 4 times the required wattage for a space this size. For this reason, it might be a good idea to purchase a thermostat with the heater so that you can maintain a constant temperature within the enclosure.

Hi Paul! Yes, our NXT Gen and Solis IR Panels come with thermostats, though the Solis panels operate primarily via your smartphone. Hi Serena! For any outdoor area, we would strongly recommend opting for one of our IR Bar Heaters instead. The Aurora range for example utilises near infrared, and produces a very intense heat that's perfect for outdoor use. For an area that size, we would recommend perhaps two bar heaters, with one at either end, however, our customer services team on 0116 321 4124 will be able to provide you with a more detailed recommendation!

The NON printed panels will have the lowest VOC emission rate, in the case of the print panels it might be slightly higher due to the ink used to print.

We would advise roughly 1.5m off the ground and 50cm to 60cm from the ceiling if you are wall mounting.
I would advise against putting an obstruction in front of the unit i.e. a chair in this case.
If you need to eliminate cold spots you need to provide a good heat distribution.

Just a few questions as I’m going to order 3 panels. They are for 3 sections of my pigeon loft. Firstly each section has a wall with 12 Nestboxes covering the whole wall which is 2m x 2m. Each box will have a pigeon perching on the front of them. I want to keep the section at 16 degrees during the week but increase to 18 degrees thurs and Friday. Will a panel achieve this. Also I intend mounting each panel at an angle pointing downwards to say the centre of the 12 boxes. Will the ir rays give equal heat to all boxes or will it project the rays to the same area as the size of the panel and be cooler towards the outside boxes. I’ll use a room thermostat to regulate the temp of each section

Hi Geoff! The ability to control the temperature will depend entirely on the thermostat that you use with the panels. If you use the Salus Digital Thermostat in our Thermostats category, you'll be able to set individual temperatures for each day of the week, which will let you keep your pigeons at 16 degrees, and then 18 degrees on Thursday and Friday. As for the spread of heat, it will depend on the size of your area - smaller areas will have a good spread of heat, but in larger areas you'll have to make more of an effort to spread your panels out. Given that your whole wall is 2m x 2m, I don't think you'll have this problem, but it would be good practice to distribute the 3 panels evenly anyway. Hope this helps Geoff! Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us if you need anything else!

Hi there Iain! When mounting the panel, please ensure that you leave a 50mm gap between the wall and the panel, and the same rule applies for the ceiling. There is a 3-4% heat loss from the back of the panel, however, this should not affect the plastic cladding. Hi Rachel,
All of our Infrared Panels can be wall or ceiling mounted- though for ceiling installations we strongly recommend using the Suspension Kit, and suspending the panel approximately 10-20cm from the ceiling. The power cable measures 2m and all of our panels are IP54 rated, meaning they’re protected against splashes of water.
I hope this helps.

Hi Bronwyn! Well to start with, our IR Panels are definitely more efficient that fan heaters, so I believe you'll save money by switching! Most people save in the region of 60% on their heating by switching from electric convection to electric IR. By the sounds of things, your current heater is connected through what's known as a fused spur socket - they are highly common in bathrooms and kitchens as they are safer around water basically. If you wanted to switch to Infrared, you'd probably need to get an electrician to hard wire the heater in for you, it should be a simple job for them. Hope this helps Bronwyn, let us know if you need anything else!

Hi Mark! We wouldn't recommend using stick on vinyl on the Classic IR Panel Range as the surface does get quite hot, so there could be damage to both the surface and the vinyl. As well as that, it may not be completely safe to do so either. If you were to do that it would at the very least need to be heat proof, though do be warned this could also potentially void the warranty as well. We would recommend opting for a Custom Image IR Panel instead. Do let us know if there is anything else you need!

Hi Luke! That sounds like an interesting project you have there! For your room, assuming it has a height of around 2.4m, and is well insulated as you have mentioned, we'd recommend either a 700W or a 900W panel. Anything less and it wouldn't be sufficient for the size of the room. Do let us know if you have any other questions for us!
If/when buying FIR panels, there is a need to check the voltage input on the transformer(s). It’s highly likely - as most of these units are imported (are yours and if ss where from?) - that the panels are 'CE'-marked and run at 230v. Whilst this may be legal, for FIR panels (and ceiling-mounted ones in particular) – this could cause major problems, because the usual UK voltage is 240v and the panels will therefore run over wattage and give out more heat than needed. To prevent them overheating, FIR panels should have a built in overheat cut off, and on the ceiling where it’s warmest, a panel that is designed to run at 230v and 200w, on 240v could run at around 210w +, causing the panels to overheat and switch off. So FIR panels on a thermostat (and I hope yours are) might never get a long enough 'burn' and would constantly click off and on, wearing out all the faster. The only obvious solution to this would be to fit a voltage optimiser probably on a dedicated heating circuit, a complex task, especially with E7 wiring, for a householder who just wants to cut costs and improve heating response.
Your comments, please!

Hello! Firstly, our IR Panels are imported from the Far East, and assembled here in the UK. They also run at 220-240V input, so there would be no issues running UK 240V. We specify on the product pages that they run 230V as this is what most electricians and other sole traders use when quoting jobs for clients. I will get a member of our team to email you a picture of the control unit on the back of the panel that specifies this. That said, all our IR Panels do come with built-in cut offs in the event that they do begin to overheat. We have had them in our ceiling in our office for around 3 years and they are yet to overheat, and bear in mind that the panels we're using belong to our first generation - since then the efficiency and quality of the heaters has improved dramatically. I hope this helps allay your concerns, do let us know if you have any further queries you'd like to ask us!

Hi Liz,
You can wall mount it like that or you can have that installed into the ceiling.
Each panel comes up with all the screws and fixings needed.
Hope this helps.

Hi Jeff! The classic IR Heating panels don't come with a remote control. They work perfectly with thermostats that give you remote control. We are also expecting a new batch of heaters in the near future that have integrated thermostats and remotes as standard (around end of March 2018), so this is also an option for you. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi Jeff! Sounds like the best solution for you would be to hard wire the heater rather than plugging it straight into a wall socket. This would also be a very safe option too. Let us know if there is anything else you need!

Hi Jeff! You'll be able to switch the heater on or off at the wall. Alternatively, using a thermostat will allow you to switch it on and off remotely. Otherwise they're perfectly safe to use in a bathroom thanks to IP44 protection. Let us know if there's anything else you need!
